show up anywhere like the boss you are!
Received this after a LOT of research on what’s out there. My last luggage purchase was an epic fail. Love the expansion feature on the luggage, so much nicer and more secure than a zipper expander. I absolutely love this piece and the matching compression bags are a big win as well. I feel so much more organized and prepared for my next trip! Oh and the guarantee? Top notch, registering was easy peesy. Buy from this website, don’t waste your time elsewhere.

Tried so hard to like this bag
This is the most infuriating suitcase I have ever owned. The compression system is horrible!! It does not stay compressed. Off a curb, pops open, in the trunk, pops open, in the overhead, pops open. This is an absolute design flaw. How does it not have a mechanism to prevent it from popping open? I brought it back to the dealer and they insisted that items inside the suitcase were pushing the release buttons??? Seriously?, if that were possible, than it is an even worse design than I thought (that wasn't it, I was able to easily have it pop open with cardboard across both releases in the store. If that weren't awful enough, it is heavy, scuffs easily, the zipper pulls are horrible. They are the strangest angle. It makes them so hard to pull. Consider yourself warned. . .

I've made it
I did a lot of research before buying my luggage, I even ordered another brand and sent it back because it didn't excite me, flying is stressful enough without having to think about your luggage, mine is the 22" spinner hard side and it gives me the feeling I wanted to get. As soon as I opened the box and removed it I couldn't wait for the first trip, the look, the quality, the expansion, it rolls like a dream and best of all its a Briggs & Riley. I've made it! This is a suitcase you're proud to roll through the airport or wherever you may use it. I did a test pack for four days, I loaded it up and zipped it, then pushed the expansion in, and like it says it all fit. No bulging sides, fits with all of my things in the overhead bin, what more could I ask. My research paid off!

Beautifully made bag. I just
Beautifully made bag. I just returned from my first trip with it and everything worked well. I did check the bag in so I wouldn’t have to lift it. I wish it were a trifle bigger.

Love this Carry On
As an avid traveler, finding the perfect carry-on suitcase can be a game-changer, and the Briggs & Riley hard-side carry-on truly stands out. This suitcase excels in practicality, particularly when it comes to packing. I was genuinely surprised by how easy it is to pack. The interior is thoughtfully designed with smart compartments and compression straps that truly maximize every inch of space. Unlike some hard-side cases that can feel rigid and restrictive, this Briggs & Riley model expands and adapts to your belongings, making organization a breeze. I found myself able to fit more than I anticipated, even for longer trips where I'd typically need a larger bag.

Defective product and poor service
My wife and I bought two of these. They are both defective. The compression mechanism pops open on both of them no matter how we try to do it. It's a system design flaw, as both of them have the same problem. What good is a compression suitcase which does not compress. Getting through the service phone number is definitely not user-friendly particularly on the run. We have been lifetime Briggs and Riley users but this is making me rethink this company.

I Returned It
I was very tired of my clam shell case and did a lot of research for a top opening, expandable case which led me to the BR Carry On Expandable Spinner. This seemed like the best one out there and BR appeared to have a reputation for being a pricey but the quality choice. . I spent a week with it in my bedroom trying to love and just couldn’t. I returned it which was a simple and painless procedure. For the price, it didn’t feel like a crafted piece of luggage. Hardly any better than most roll ons. Plasticky. The zippers kept sticking unless I held them at just the right angle and they were hard to grasp because they double as the locking mechanism which wants to turn 90 degrees from the direction of the zipper. I liked the idea of the compressor mechanism but it seemed to just take up space without any real benefit. I use compressible bags to pack my stuff iin and when it fully expand it, it is to use the extra space Instead of a nice open interior there were lots of insane and outs making for useless corners. The handle mechanism is very thick creating wasted space at the bottom. The lining felt like it wouldn’t last and the compression panel was flimsy and always in the way. The handle operation and wheels felt like any other, less expensive back but that was just in my bedroom, so not a true test. The little external storage compartment on the back was intriguing but I couldn’t imagine what I would use it for. I wouldn’t chance my phone or passport in it and it wasn’t big enough for anything else. So, not a bad bag, but I couldn’t really see anything to convince me it was worth it. Back to my clamshell for this upcoming trip and the quest for the holy grail of bags goes on.
