Not a lot of protection

I got these because we needed to replace our old oven mitts. While they look really nice and are comfortable, I lasted almost 3 seconds holding onto a hot pan. The heat permeated through the gloves pretty quickly. So it works for getting something out of the oven quick. But if something happens, like a child running through the kitchen and I have to hold it an extra second or two, I would be burning my hands. Pretty disappointed especially for the price.
