Rock hard pouf

I was disappointed with the pouf. First, it was 15" X 15" X 14.5". ..no 18 inches about it. Secondly, it is as rock hard as a boulder with absolutely no give. The write up mentions "assembly required" and I wondered if it meant I was to remove whatever is in it and add styrofoam beads. The crocheted cover is its only redeeming quality.
