Response from Macy's
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have had a problem cleaning your Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 8-Qt. Stock Pot. You may remove the stains by using a liquid dish washing detergent such as Dawn® and a non-abrasive sponge or soft bristle brush. You may also use Bar Keeper's Friend® cleanser (or other polish made especially for stainless steel) to restore the stainless steel surface of the pan. For additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Consumer Care team at 1-800-809-PANS (7267), Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM EST.
Great addition
Now this is a pan! I can easily make 3 boxes of spaghetti in this or boil 2 dozen eggs. Will probably stick to my smaller one for most of the year, but for company or holidays this is a must have size. And it was 30% off, so it was a no brainer purchase.
Perfect Pan
I have several Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Calphalon pans. They wash beautifully and are not too heavy.
Great buy
Great cooking performance, perfect size, easy clean. Last year I brought it for my mother and she liked it very much.
Love pot
I love this stockpot. The handles do get hot but I use a pot holder.
Really nice pot
I bought the 8-qt and the 5-qt. I have not used the 8-qt yet but did use the 5-qt a few days ago. I simmered some onions to make soup and the pan was great (glass-top stove). It conducts heat well and the handles on the pan and lid do get a bit too hot to touch without potholders, unless you have "chef hands." The 5-qt was just big enough for a big batch of soup. It was great! I cleaned it afterward and used Bon Ami to clean the bottom because of the film from the onions, then I put the pot in the dishwasher with non-chlorine detergent. After it was done, there was a cloudiness on the bottom from browning the onions. Then I searched online the difference between two powdered cleaners, and I will try using the other one to remove that cloudiness. Another thing I would advise against is using hard plastic utensils in the pot. I have a hard plastic ladle that I've had since the 1970s and it scratched the bottom of the pot! So, that's going in the trash! I will use only wood or silicone from now on. But the pot is terrific! I can't wait to use the bigger one, and I do highly recommend the Calphalon tri-ply. I love the products!
Awesome, and big stock pot
This stock pot is the perfect size for pasta, stews and sauces.
