Designed to maneuver easily on any surface, from floor to ceiling, the Dyson Big Ball Multi-Floor vacuum uses powerful centrifugal force to capture and trap microscopic dust, allergens and bacteria.
The suction is great! Better on large area rugs or wall to wall carpet. A little too powerful for hardwood. Particles get thrown back and not sucked up. But my biggest issue is when emptying the canister.. it exposes the filter. So when you open the bottom all the dust, dirt, dog hair and dander that inevitably gets caked on the filter flies up in the air and around the trash. And the only way to clean out said filter is to blow it our with an air compressor because wiping it does not clean it out properly. And like other people have stated, the latch/clip that holds the canister closed broke after less than a year.
I've tried to like it. I've tried to love it. I actually really don't like or love it. It is a thorn in my side. Horrible maneuverability....long cord, clunky canister with a worthless wheel, then another long hose and attachment. Something is snagged or hung up somewhere. This vacuum won't even suck up a Cheerio. It literally spits it out. Today was it. It's out the door cuz I'm done
I wish I could say I love my Dyson Big Ball but unfortunately it comes up short compared to my previous Dyson, The DC26, which was exceptional. The Big Ball is much heavier and difficult to maneuver and it takes up a lot more space in the closet. I had to totally arrange my closet so it would fit. While the idea of storing the attachments on the wand is, in theory, a great idea, I find that they keep hitting my furniture. I also liked how it easy it was to detach the clear bin and thoroughly wash it on the DC26. Perhaps this machine would be more appropriate in a house than a small apartment. Like all Dysons, it is well made and powerful but I'm disappointed that the company discontinued the old model and offered the Big Ball as the only canister option. Please bring the DC 26 back!
This is a wonderful vacuum!! Have had mine for a long time - easy to use and cleans well!!
If you are looking for a canister vacume that takes you back to the 60's, this model is for you. Horrible maneuverability, has power as long as you don't use the floor attachment. Its extremely bulky and takes much room to store. People such as myself by Dyson because of the name. It used to be because of quality. Apparently quality doesn't exist with Dyson anymore. I've read a lot of bad reviews and I regret ignoring them. Think before you buy. Buyer beware
Terrible on carpet, won't roll smoothly but great on floor. I would of never ordered if I knew that it didn't roll on carpet easily.
It is great on carpet and floors. I have 3 dogs and one cat so I use it often. The tools are great on the furniture and the suction is so strong it gets the deep imbedded dirt. I highly recommend it. It may cost a little more, but my stick Dyson at age 6 is still going strong. i have the same expectation for this one.
This vacuum is great on hard wood floors, however it does not work well on rugs. It doesn’t pick up the dog hair on the carpets.
