This review is for the Ricardo Cabrillo 21" hardside carry-on spinner suitcase. I've measured a LOT of hardside carry-on spinner suitcases looking for ones that fit the 22" x 14" x 9" carry on size for most US airlines. Especially Hawaiian Airlines which we fly with a lot. This suitcase meets the 22x14x9 inch requirement in my opinion. The actual size that I measure is (22" high to the top of the hard shell + 5/8" to the top of the carry handle - not the extending handle.) (14" wide hard shell + 3/4" for the zippers and side carry handle.) (9" thick hard shell without opening the expanding zipper.) If this suitcase was put into a 14" x 9" measuring rack, I'm confident that it would fit since the sides of the hard shell can be compressed inward to meet the 14" wide dimension requirement. I would NEVER unzip the expansion zipper and I wish that Ricardo never installed it. Why did you install the expansion zipper Ricardo when the thickness max for carry-on is 9 inches? As far as the 3/4" added to the height because of the "carry" handle, the airline would have to be VERY chinsy to make one check this suitcase because of that and I'm confident that that would never happen. Almost all of the carry-on suitcases I measured at Macys and other stores are sufficiently over the 22" x 14" x 9" maximum carry-on dimensions. What in the world are the suitcase manufacturers thinking? The designers should all be replaced with ones that know the airline carry-on maximum dimensions. Also, this suitcase is made of polycarbonate instead of ABS. Polycarbonate is lighter, stronger and more resistant to indentations than ABS is. It is the preferred material for suitcases but usually costs more than ABS suitcases. But this Ricardo Cabrillo is priced about the same as other ABS suitcases so that's a huge plus. I also like the quality of the interior with a full zippered partition on one side and the wide fabric tie downs instead of just strap tie downs. The exterior has a slight gloss to it which make the polycarbonate shell look very nice and with the two orange straps (design only, not functional), this suitcase looks very nice indeed. The extending handle leaves a bit to be desired in my opinion. It has to be pulled all the way up and then pushed back down to one of 3 locking positions. It would have been nicer if the lowest locking position could have been obtained with a pull up to that height. But I can live with this extending handle design as long as the handle doesn't bend or break. Time will tell one this. This suitcase has "carry" handles on the top and on the side. Some carry on suitcases don't have a carry handle on the side. This suitcase also has a hand grip on the bottom to assist when putting the suitcase into an overhead bin or if one wants to carry the suitcase horizontally in the flat orientation. Nice touch. I just bought this Ricardo Cabrillo 21" carry-on and have not used it on a trip yet. If it fails in any way, I will be back to edit this review (if edits are allowed).
It's so shiny!!!
So many features. From the pictures, it looked like it would be a light grey. It wasn't - it was a gorgeous mirrored color that I totally fell for. I couldn't stop looking at it or touching it when I was taking it out of the box. Thankfully, it didn't reflect all the finger prints it encountered. There are a lot of features inside for business travel, but I am using it mostly for pleasure. It certainly is luggage you'd have to check - too big to fit in an airline overhead. The nice thing is my kids like to "help". The case didn't easily scratch and the swivel wheels really kept up with their helping. I would love to get a whole set in the gunmetal/mirror color. Gorgeous!

Beautiful and lightweight suitcase
This suitcase looks so classy! Not only that, the material is so sturdy and great quality. I loved both the interior and exterior look of this luggage. So far, I have already used this hardside carry-on spinner for 2 road trips. I used it to carry both my daughter and my stuff. The partition in this bag is so well done that it keeps things in place. The orange stripes running across the luggage adds to it's beauty. This bag is super easy to clean, light to carry and adds some personality to your lifestyle. It goes so well with the other two Ricardo luggage I own. Love love love this spinner!!

I am so impressed by this suitcase. The locking mechanism is awesome and so secure. All the little compartments are perfect for separating all your essentials during travel. Lightweight and easy handling. I definitely recommend this suitcase and I will be looking to get more from this collection.

Ricardo brand luggage is top notch.
Let me start off by saying I love Ricardo luggage. I own multiple pieces and they are all amazing. This piece of luggage is by far the best designed. It looks like a luxury luggage piece. The Cabrillo also has a bunch of built in storage. I use the zip up section for dividing dirty and clean laundry on the return trip home. My favorite part is the lock. Instead of having that breakable key lock most luggage offers it has an awesome built in lock with the zippers. I would definitely recommend this product.

Absolutely worth purchasing!
This was my first hard case roller suitcase to use, and I am completely sold on it! The quality is hands-down the best I have seen and used. The rollers are incredibly smooth, and it was amazingly easy to use at the airport/airplane. I have other cases where the wheels will catch and topple over, but I never had that issue with this one! The material is very durable, and I love that I can just wipe it clean after my trips. The extra bonus of being able to lock it was also a nice feature. My husband and I are both fighting over who will be using this one on a regular basis! I would absolutely purchase this spinner suitcase, and actually probably will be so my husband can have his own! Superb quality spinner!

Love love love this suitcase!
The Ricardo Cabrillo Hardside Carry-on is honestly the best carry-on I've ever owned. It's 21inches so it fits plenty of travel gear, but the spinner makes it so easy to carry. This suitcase is super stylish, but also unique because it's got a hidden address/information label that slides out, tons of storage inside thanks to several compartments and a toiletry bag that comes with and connects inside, and one of my favorite parts- a handle on the bottom, which makes it easy to lift when putting into the overhead compartment or even the trunk of your car. The built in locking zipper is a definitely plus. I've found that many carry ons do not have a handle on bottom, nor do they have as much storage as the Cabrillo, so I'm really thrilled with it overall. I've taken this bag on a short trip from Austin to Dallas, and on an international trip, and it was perfect for both. If you're looking for your new easy-to-use suitcase, this is the one!
