Carbon Steel Pan 12 inches

The manufacturer says: Ships with a protective silicone coating, just wash and start cooking. I used this pan on an induction stove at 800 watts for one hour to cook garbanzo beans. Look at the picture of what happened. The "silicone" coating peeled off in several spots, contaminating the food. This would suggest the product is unsafe. It was purchased on February 18, 2025, and has a two-year warranty. Would the manufacturer offer a refund? I would like to hear from the supplier.

Why Would Anyone Coat a Carbon Steel Pan!

This pan is actually made of carbon steel, however, it is coated with a cheap ceramic coating that eliminates all of the benefits of carbon steel. This has to be washed with soap and water, like a teflon pan, and the coating quickly loses its non stick properties. It is light weight, so if that is what you want, you may like it.

I assumed this was carbon steel given the name. It is cheap enamel.
