Beautiful necklace, breaks quickly!

Necklace broke the next day after gifting it to my son. It broke while we were putting it on him. I went online and saw there were reviews on the necklace breaking. I should have read them prior to purchasing. It was a beautiful necklace, that is why I gave it two stars. Also, Macy's, I understand you work with a jeweler for repairs. If there is a cost to this after just having the necklace break after a day or the necklace breaking for multiple customers that is an issue.
