Even some negative reviews acknowledged the strong suction power. In fact, that might be the very reason most of the negative reviews were that it felt difficult to use or ineffective—I’m not sure if these users pulled the trigger as described in the manual or maybe my carpet is low-pile. The turbine head is a simpler and hopefully more reliable solution compared to a motorized head that requires wires running through the hose. I’m still getting used to using a canister. It may be a bit cumbersome, and the effective brush-to-head width ratio is slightly lower than that of a V8 stick. However, it doesn’t seem any noisier—except maybe so on hard floors, which could simply be due to the strong suction. I also don’t mind the plastic build, since it makes the handle lighter. I rate it as around 4.5 so far. My two concerns are: 1) whether the dustbin clip will hold up over time. You do need to make sure it clicks securely into place, otherwise I guess debris might fall out (as a few reviewers mentioned). 2) I hope Dyson continues supplying parts and making canisters, as they serve purposes that stick, upright, and robotic vacuums alone can’t replace. If this model proves reliable, I would definitely consider Dyson when it’s time to buy another one.

I bought it half a year ago and am happy with it. It is powerful, performs great, pretty manoeuvres, can stay on stairs, exactly what I wanted.

Not a user friendly vacuum
The vacuum does not have the suction component motorized so it is very heavy to work and “glues” to the rugs even when one is pulling the release which is very tiring on the finger.

Excellent Vacuum – Powerful, Easy to Use

Excellent cleaning technology.
I love my Dyson ball vacuum because it's great at getting at the hard to reach areas under tables and near skirting boards.The handle extension allows me to clean the filter of the bathroom ceiling fan. It's also easy to empty and store in my cupboard. The filter is great and easy to clean. It's not too loud.
