Looks good but doesn't last

This watch band is supposed to be one of the nicest available, it's expensive and produced by the manufacturer. It looked nice out of the box but it has only been 3 months and it's already looking rough and turning black around the edges. It looks like the leather part got rubbed and there is black underneath of it.
