Web ID: 19609502Another great Fenix
Having upgraded from 7, flashlight has been a life changing feature. It's nice to still have the option of an MIP screen and not just AMOLED

Great watch!!
I bought this about a month ago n haven’t taken it off, this watch has great battery life along with other data. Depth gage works well. I also had the Fenix 7S but i like this much better, it does it all.

Perfect for Marathon Training
I bought my Fenix 8 to train for the 2026 Miami Marathon. I really love the watch. Feature reach, can track all vitals and all relevant running metrics. I love the feature where it keeps me (while running) in the right pace, alerting when I'm to fast or to slow, a feature that the AW doesn't have. Battery life is incredible, I find myself charging the watch every 2 weeks which is remarkable. I wear my Fenix when I sleep, as it is the most comfortable watch so far that I tested, I wear my Fenix when I exercise and I wear my AW during the day due to the cellular connection and Apple ecosystem.

Awesome tool that has grown on me vs Apple Watch
Coming from the Apple Watch Ultra I wanted a smartwatch that had extended battery life and gps features that didn’t require phone connection and that also had topo graphic view format with water/weather indications. So far I’ve done multiple hikes and scuba adventures these past few weeks and I can say that this watch really shines for the hardcore outdoorsman. I wanted the solar 47mm option so it’s not so bulky on my wrist and it had to have the mini solar panel to extended the battery life a few days which it really did. One key feature that I did not anticipate liking so much was the Garmin connect app. You can find tons of hikes local to your area and also map your own trails which makes getting out there super easy! This could be pretty cool if you are an avid cyclist or runner and want to find/build/track your exact distances for a coordinated route and monitor your progress as simple as looking at your watch. One feature that I really wish was available for the fenix 8 was the ability to use air integration for scuba diving. However I believe that feature is only available on one of the other scuba specific watches made by Garmin. The menu is not as intuitive as the Apple Watch Ultra, however once you spend some time with the watch you will quickly overcome that small learning curve. The Apple Watch Ultra is still a useful tool if you are going on sub 2 day adventures or working in an environment that needs features such as the walkie talkie or picture messaging directly to your watch but I feel much more confident wearing garmins Fenix 8 47mm solar on my wrist for real deal outdoorsman situations. Both watches have a place on my nightstand but the Garmin is a beast that keeps on going with battery life measured in days not hours.

Love it!
I’ve had my Fenix 8 for about a month. I love it, still learning new functions all the time.

Bought this to count my steps
I love it but wish it had a weekly total count like my Fitbit does.

That is a great idea! I would recommend sending an ideas form so we are able to push that towards our development team. Here is a direct link to the form. garmin.com/ideas
Mostly Positive, but with a few drawbacks
History; I have been a loyal Garmin Fenix user since the early days of F5, which I enjoyed it tremendously same as F6, F6sPro, F7s Pro SS. So, I have purchased 2x Garmin Fenix 8, 47mm solar/MIP displays, but I had to return them both. Design: superb, best Fenix or Garmin watch to date. Definitely a big pro here. Best rugged sports watch on the market- design & functionality at its best. OS: also excellent, nice overhaul UX, not the most intuitive but easy to adapt to after a little while. Lastly, I didn’t experience any glitches. Another positive point here. Battery: yet again, another home run by Garmin. No issues to report, certainly an improvement from my Fenix 7s Pro Sapphire Solar (42 mm) There are however 2x drawbacks for me. 1. the titanium bezel scratches way too easily. I am VERY careful with all my watches (habit I picked up from wearing expensive mechanical watches like Omega, Tudor, etc)…in a week, it already picked up visible scratches. For a rugged sports watch, I would have preferred a more durable titanium version, or stainless steel would do just fine. 2. my biggest gripe however were the new inductive buttons. About 30% of the time, they didn’t register my input (ps I disabled touchscreen, so I solely relied on buttons interactions; I need a sports watch not a smart one, so if my hands are sweaty or wet, touch screen is moot). These wireless buttons also lacked tactile feedback, despite enabling the vibration feature. I have calibrated the buttons several times via Garmin Express, but to no avail. TL:DR Sadly, I returned the F8, and got an Enduro 3. The buttons are perfect, battery is superlative (best in business), MIP screen is fantastic- exactly what I needed (the lack of speaker and dive functionality on the Enduro 3 have zero effect - I don’t need an extension of my phone on my wrist, AMOLED or MicroLED colour screens…and I’m a land creature). @Garmin - you lost me from continuing w/ the Fenix line, but didn’t jump ship to Suunto, Corps or, god forbid Apple…Soo glad that you continue to make Enduro line. Not all of us want inspector gadget flashy, and admittedly somewhat useless for the most of us , like colour screens that kill battery, microphone or fancy buttons. If one needs diving…don’t you already have Descent series?
