The last forerunner without a touchscreen

The 945 is still such a good model even with all the other newer models out. I enjoy the use of tactile buttons and the menu navigation of Garmin is very intuitive. I wanted a solar option but that’s on the 955, and yet the battery is still very reliable with multiple workouts in one week. Can’t go wrong with the 945.

I try to connect my garmin to my phone but it's mission impossible. I passed all steps that i have to do but failed. I installed the apps/Garmin cennect/.

Wouldn't recommend

The watch never worked properly. multiple issues from day 1 - would read that I walked 2 steps in a day when I'm running multiple miles. Recently got in the water for a swim and it no longer charges / turns on. Big waste of money. My husband has a different addition Garmin watch for ultra running and he really loves it which is why I purchased this one - bad mistake.

Refurbished watch stopped working

Swapped my old non functioning Garmin for a refurbished one, it worked fine for about a month now not charging or responding.

Software is absolute trash

Have had the forerunner 945 for years and recently it will just not connect to the wifi anymore. Reset from factory, reset app/phone etc - nothing working. Have wasted so much time trying to fix it, just going to make the switch to apple

Annoying relinking

I have had my 945 for some years and it’s a great watch. Recently there was a glitch on Garmin Connect where my watch would no longer sync to the app on my iPhone (despite being shown on the app). After trying all of the normal fixes this was eventually resolved by “forgetting” the watch on the app and then re-linking. As a result I am now being asked to review my ”new” watch. Not smart and very irritating!
