Great starer golf watch to track distance to various hazards and the greens. Battery life was strong enough initially to play two rounds without needing to recharge in between. Watch has served me well over the past few years. Also connects to phone and can receive texts.

Poor longevity for this and previous model.
Purchased almost 4 years ago, and recently, the glue holding the watch back to the watch body failed. I noticed gummy, sticky stuff in the groove where the back met the body and assumed this was just sweaty body gunk, but as it turned out, this was the glue liquifying and seeping out. I always rinse and wipe down the watch after every workout (bike ride), and don't wear it at night. Sadly, this is almost exactly what happened to my previous Vivoactive (a Vivoactive HR), except in that case, it was the glue holding the screen onto the watch body that failed, after 2 years 6 months. In both cases, the watch failed outside of the warranty period. Of course.

Consistently recommend Garmin sport watches
I can't say enough good things about the vivoactive 3. This little powerhouse of a watch I have now had for 4.5 years. I would go through a fitbit every 2 years easily (and the fitbits gave me a rash on my wrist). The only issue I have had is the sensor for elevation seems to have broken, or periodically messes up, and that seems to be a rather common issue. it is worse on really humid days here in Florida. But literally it will say I climbed 10K feet on a flat trail in Florida. It has all the main metrics you could ever want, and some you didn't even know you wanted. The challenges, badges, and community engagement are top notch. My only complaint is when some badges aren't repeated each year (that's a me problem ha!). I can compete with friends for weekly challenges etc. I love the tips and "insights" it gives me...like if it notices I don't get my steps in on Wednesday's ...then I can focus on why that it. Tracking sleep is pretty spot on. And I think the HR monitor does a really decent job, even though it might be slightly off during hot sweaty activities, I think on average it's accurate.

Garmin Vivoactive 3
As a long time fan of Garmin products, our family trusts Garmin watches to track our fitness and activity. Whether it be paddle boarding in the ocean, or running a 10k on the weekend, this watch is as versatile as we are. This watch has proven to be completely waterproof and able to be cleaned as needed. The watch band could use some improvement but is not hard to replace. I recommend this product!

Great watch
I love that I can track my workouts and sleep in one place. This each is light enough to wear in bed to monitor how much rest you get! I also love that I can change to watch bands easily!

Strap
Have had this watch for nearly 2 years. Unfortunately the piece that holds the strap in place broke. Where do I get a new one?

Good Watch but not Great
This was probably a poor purchase since it does not have on-board music. Spend the extra $ and get the one with music option. Seems well built, but it was not really what I was looking for.

Battery is a fail
I bought this Garmin Vivoactive 3 8 months ago and I called support for battery issues twice already, which didn't help much since the wait time is too long I just opted on charging the watch every other day. I have reset the watch back to default configuration and the battery still didn't improve. Now on its 8th month the battery won't even last 18 hours. Data wise, I could say the data it produce is at par with other wearables in the market. I have been a wearable user for more than a decade now and this is the worst smartch watch that I have ever used and bought.
