Manufacturing defect in sizing

I’m a big Gentle Souls fan having having owned a dozen pairs in my life. They are a guaranteed fit for me, always the same width that fits me perfectly, a size Medium. I am not a very narrow and they always come in a medium that fits well and allows me room to break in. These were the first exception in all my purchase history. I don’t know what the manufacturer had in mind but these are not Medium width. They are large width and will stretch to Extra Large in a minute. Not only too wide but the height of the strap that goes over the foot is so high, all I could think is that this would only fit one who had a serious case of Edema of swollen feet. That being said, the ankle strap is very thin & flimsy and buckle hard to maneuver, slips out. No way can this strap support or hold a foot in place with such a heavy platform. Will take up a lot of space/weight in packing for a trip. This sandal is a twisted ankle waiting to happen. Unless you have an exceptionally wide and raised foot and don’t plan to walk a lot, don’t buy.
