Fakes will hopefully have a sturdy clasp.

I bought these costume jewelry earrings to replace a Macy’s genuine diamond set in 14k white gold pair of earrings after I lost one of the genuine diamond earrings. I think the clasp was weak, and I didn’t notice when it came off. I don’t want to make that mistake again, so I bought these fakes.
