Horrible Odor

Could not even try these pants on due to the horrible smell of the material. I received a migraine for two days from it. Why do they add horrible smelling chemicals to their material. I've had Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans in the past that were wonderful. I am not rating the Jean but the odor that was in them. I have another pair of pants that I purchased that I have washed 5+ times and have left them hanging outside to no avail.
