Bread Lifter Handle Not Engaging Toasting

The mechanics for the toaster feature are challenging. The bread lifter handle averages 3 attempts before it latches in the down position to engage the toasting process. It's inconvenient and obviously not supposed to work that way. I'm preparing to send it back.

Works great. Super hot though.

Toasts wonderfully. But it has NO insulation, so it gets VERY hot. Beware.

Design flaws. push down lever does not work right

After a month of use I have found this item has several design flaws.The frame around where you put toast in is a BIG Problem & catches crumbs & difficult to clean. Also, the push down lever needs to be pushed down a couple of times before it sticks.

Perfect addition!

This little toaster oven is great!! We love the toaster combo on the top! It was very even on both sides and was efficient! This one is slightly bigger than our previous one which makes it a better choice for our family. Love it!!

Works really well EXCEPT for trying to remove the food tray

Wish the toaster oven had a handle to slide the tray out. My previous HB toaster oven had a hinge that allowed the tray to come out. Why doesn't it have a handle or hinge so that I don't burn my hand trying to take the food tray out???

Wonderful, but takes up a lot of counter space.

Works wonderfully - I bought this to replace the original that I had for 10 years - this is quite a bit larger, still fits on the counter, but definitely bulkier. I love the versatility of toasting and having a small oven. The slot for toast is perfect for bagels, sourdough round slices, etc.

Clicking Noise

The toaster oven makes a constant clicking noise when using the toaster feature. Also makes a clicking noise in addition to the timer ticking when using the oven. The clicking noise continues about 3 minutes after using either feature and after unplugging it. I will be returning it to the manufacturer.

Totally pleased, . . . Delighted!

This Hamilton Beach oven/toaster is just about perfect in every aspect. In the mornings for us, it is used as a toaster (and it toasts bread evenly, and better yet, QUICKLY), and in the evening, it's our "little" oven for when we have small things to heat up (and so far, the oven seems to heat fairly evenly. It takes up only a couple inches (wider) more than our old toaster-oven did, and its added inch-or-so height is no problem. Bottom line, the world now has (. . . finally . . .) ONE counter-top appliance that truly does two things seemingly well: a "true" pop-up toaster, and a compact counter-top oven. Congratulations, Hamilton Beach, it looks like you got it right.
