Great concept, but disappointed in the quality.

The product works, but it is made from a flimsy plastic and the piece doesn’t always stay in place. We have used a glass steamer in the past, but it is more costly. One plus is that you can steam larger items like artichokes.

Product is Good…Macys price is outrageous!

I have always wanted to try a true steamer but never had the opportunity before being offered one by Hamilton Beach. I have to say, the Hamilton Beach 5.5 Quart Digital Steamer does everything I had hoped it would and then some! The Hamilton Beach 5.5 Quart Digital Steamer is amazing. It has 2 steamer bowls do to multiple items at once. You can also remove the bottom to make it one tall steamer for Corn on the Cob, which I did! It also comes with a dish for making Rice or other smaller items. My rice turned out fluffy and grand! Hamilton Beach 5.5 Quart Digital Steamer also has the ability to steam eggs, vegetables, chicken, hot dogs, seafood and more. Plus it's so simple to use - fill the reservoir to the MAX line, place the drip tray over the reservoir, place the Steam Bowl(s) over the drip tray, press the ON/OFF button to initiate steaming cycle, set the desired steam/cooking time and off it goes! The Hamilton Beach 5.5 Quart Digital Steamer will switch to WARM mode when done steaming. Your food is now ready to consume and believe me when I say, you are going to want to consume it! If you are in the market for a digital steamer, look no further than the Hamilton Beach 5.5 Quart Digital Steamer. I am so happy I have it!

Great features in this digital steamer

I'm excited to say this Digital Steamer is another Hamilton Beach product that doesn't disappoint. This has everything you need in a steamer and more. 2-tiered (large) steamer containers A Rice bowl Timer Delay start Automatically goes to warm after cooking Automatically shuts off after an hour A booklet that is easy to follow, very informative, and includes cooking times for several dishes And my favorite: A window to see how much water is left and a small drawer on the side to add more water if needed during cooking. No more guesswork! And you don't have to take the whole thing apart to add water. It is very easy to clean because everything comes apart. Even the bottoms of the steamer containers come apart for easier access and cleaning. The reason I like the idea of the bottoms coming apart is when I want to cook taller foods. Take the bottom out of the top container, and wahla, you have a very large capacity for cooking. Chicken, broccoli, fish, and rice are just a few items I've made. I was able to set it and forget it which saved me time. The chicken was moist, broccoli cooked to perfection as well as the fish and rice. I plan on making hard boiled eggs next. I've heard they are easier to peel when steamed! I haven't found any negatives, so I do recommend this steamer.
