Great product, cooking pot gives out too quickly though…

Hamilton Beach has always made great products since I’ve known about them…which has been decades!! That’s why when I had a chance to get a rice cooker/steamer, I knew I had to get this Hamilton Beach one!! But, I’m a little disappointed, which is why it only gets 4 stars. My cooking pots non-stick coating started wearing off and obviously into our rice in less than a year. Now I have to try and get a new cooking pots that hopefully holds up. We have only used the rice paddle within that cooking pots, so it shouldn’t have become damaged. If that hadn’t happened, I would have given it five stars!!

Inside pot

This is my second time to buy the same rice cooker. The inside pot starts to scratch so I buy a whole new one because the inside pot is not easy to find

Great Product

This is exactly what I have been looking/waiting for although I just got it so have not tested it yet. Glad I purchased it though since my other Professional Series has finally started sticking rice on the bottom of the pan and teflon chipping off. I was surprised however that when reviewing the warranty information, I found out that the period is 5 years in Canada and only 1 year in the US. Most products that I have purchased in the US usually come with at least a 3 year warranty. Very disappointed.

Disappointing

I’ve used this cooker 2x since it arrived and am sad to say I’m disappointed. I made long grain white rice following the proportions of rice to water in the package directions. When I selected the fast rice setting, the setting showed 35 minutes, which I knew was going to be too long. I let it run at the pre-programmed time, and ended up with mushy rice, except for the crunchy layer at the bottom of the pan. Unfortunately, when I tried making rice the second time, I’ll try to avoid the mush by checking the race early it was done perfectly at just over 20 minutes. When I opened the cover fully to take some rice out of the pot, the little condensation cup, whatever it’s called, on the outside of the pot simply fell off and dropped the water it contained all over the place. The best thing about this cooker, unfortunately, is the non-stick pot insert that also fits in my old cooker, the pot of which is no longer non-stick.

Excellent, affordable, and reliable rice cooker!

I love that this cooker has different settings and cooks our rice perfectly each time. Also, the cooker was very affordable. I would buy this cooker again if this one failed!
