Probably the best YA book I have read in my life. If I could give this book more than five stars I would, because the five does not explain the love I have for this novel. Everything about it, from the relatibility of the transmasc experience to the religious aspect, to the sheer beauty of the words themselves, even though some of the images are a bit intense (this book has a long list of well-deserved content warning, it is not by any means lighthearted), everything was breathtakingly well done.

Queer YA Horror With All The Religious Trauma
I've been sitting on this review for a couple of weeks because I'm just not sure how I feel about the book. I loved it. I also didn't necessarily like it. And maybe those are two different things, just like we are able to love people without liking them, which makes sense for me because my mind tends to personify all books. Books have feelings, too. This story sank it's teeth right into my religious trauma, and the resonating ache from that is why I love this story so. The character names, the Bible verses, the rules and judgements and negative self-talk. I felt, I feel, all of that. It's all very twisty and knotted up in my chest so I won't be able to say very much more than that, to be honest. Too raw, too messy. Forget about the body horror, my issue was the Christians lol Sorry Christians! Kind of. Why I disconnected from this story was due to the writing itself. It's gorgeous and it's also a lot. It doesn't read like the first-person point of view of a sixteen year old kid. Unfortunately, this kept taking me out of the story. Recommended for fans of Ava Reid. If, like me, you found yourself highlighting entire paragraphs of The Wolf and the Woodsman, or disturbingly delighted at the cannibalistic horror of Juniper & Thorn, you'll find something to enjoy in this young adult horror novel as well.

Horrific in the Best Way
Honestly one of the most intriguing stories I've read. It's fast paced and hard to pause, yet there's moments where I had to set it down for a second to just think. Every character is unique and relatable in their own special ways, and the bonds they form with one another are heartwarming and devastating all at the same time. The writing is a wonderful balance grotesque and beautiful, I almost dreaded reaching the end because that meant there'd be no more to read. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more by White.

Love it!!
Favorite book by far. I love the inclusiveness. I wish there were more books like this about Trans people, and as much inclusiveness this one has. The plot is amazing. As someone who battles with religious trauma; I related a lot to this book. 10/10 recommend♡

EXCELLENT LGBTQIA+ Apocalyptic Horror!
Andrew Joseph White has created a truly horrifying apocalyptic adventure with Hell Followed with Us. This novel follows Benji, our trans hero as he escapes a villainous cult, In my opinion, it was like an LGBTQIA+ Resident Evil adventure and I absolutely loved it. The emotional range that this book will make you feel is amazing. From trusting people that you know you probably shouldn't, first love, anger at evil leaders, and many more, the emotional impact of this book speaks for itself. IThe anger in particular that Benji feels at his situation and the eventual ability to express that anger felt so cathartic. This was a fast-paced adventure that you do not want to miss. **Note - This book may be triggering in some scenes. Please investigate the appropriate warnings.

Are you queer and full of rage?
Then do I have the post-apocalyptic dystopia for you! Complete with sides of religious trauma, body horror, found family, a cast of characters I couldn't get enough of, and the horrifying nature of biblically accurate angels. I seriously found this book to be so cathartic, there are quotes in here I'm going to be repeating like a prayer for maybe the rest of my life. If you're looking for a book that believes you have the right to be angry, and you're tired of the narrative of being good and taking the high road- then indulge in a little monstrous revenge with this novel
