Wont Last
I have been a huge fan of these floor machines BUT they don't last. I have been thru many of these and when they work, they are awesome. You will be lucky to get 2 years out of them. And no I do not use these every day or even weekly. This is moderate use only and I cant get them to last. From motor fails, leaking canisters, fires and yes my last one caught in fire as it was in suction mode. And yet again I'm either out of the warranty or have to come out of pocket yet again. I love these machines and will miss mine, but I cant keep buying a product that won't last:( Bad part is I have referred so many of my personal clients, etc. to these so I am only trying to be honest and let everyone know.

Love the machine, hate the leaking.
I absolutely love this machine except for one thing, the leaking. I love knowing that my vinyl floors are actually scrubbed and that the dirt is sucked up and not just moved around like a mop does. What drives me crazy is that this is my third machine and yet after so many years they have not fixed the leaking. Again, the idea of the machine scrubbing your floors and removing the dirt is awesome, I just would love to see them improve the machine just a bit.

What is happening with these motors?
Why won’t my Floormate last longer than a few months? I have loved the Floormate since they first started hitting the market. My first one was larger and lasted years. Each subsequent one has lasted less and less. I can’t get more than five to six months use out of them any more. This is not an exaggeration. I follow instructions, use only approved solutions and clean it thoroughly between uses. The motor stops working or starts making a horrible noise with a burning smell after about 20 uses on about 1000 sq ft. Currently trying to decide…again…about my loyalty to Hoover. I miss my working machine.

Good Hard floor cleaner
Hoover's Floormate is a good floor cleaner. We have travertine and it cleans quite well. The only drawback is they only last for 3 or so years. This is our 5 Floormate Cleaner.

A Purchase You Won’t Regret
This is my 3rd Hoover Floormate. This is hands down the best tile cleaner on the market. I have tried others and they cannot hold a candle to this one. I have 1800 sq ft of tile. What I love- it is easy to use. It cleans so well and you will see when you pour out the dirty water. No streaks. The only thing I don’t like is that the motors have burned up on me twice but not until I got a lot of use out of it. At this price range though, it is 100% worth it. I will never not own a Hoover Floormate. It is the only thing I trust to actually clean my tile.
