Good cleaner but could be improved upon
so I currently own the older version of this vacuum with the brush roll clutch. I did find out that mine is one of the ones without the hose diverter knob on the side. the clutch sadly does eat away at the belt unless you turn off the brush roll before putting the cleaner in it's upright/tool mode. other than that it does get stubborn matted pet hair out of medium shag pile carpet. probably not an ideal cleaner for worn down carpeting though as I have noticed the carpet is warm from the bristles creating a lot of friction

Didn't finish engineering this one
The cord doesn't fully retract, and both the HEPA filter and top attachment fall out regularly.

This vacuum is the worst I've had.
We have had this vacuum for about a year. The main power button rubber broke about six months ago. The handle is also shredding. The power cord is falling out the back, only a matter of time before it separates and becomes trash bound. The bristles are not easy to clean. The connection from the hose to the container is susceptible to breaks/gaps and doesn't maintain good contact. The bristles are difficult to clean compared to all previous vacuums we've used. It's not good.

Great power but lack of attention to details
I am still impressed with the power of this machine. However while using it i found several flaws. When you are using the accessories with the hose, remember to set on hard floor your brushes of main body. Otherwise as in my case you will end with a rug with a hole . The brushes still rotate. Never understood the pet accessory, I've tried several angles and the brushes only works with power at an exactly angle that's not the logic one. Many angles are sharp enough to cut my finger a couple of times. If you vacuum barefoot be careful. The parts fall apart as soon as you twist the filter case. Why won't you did it more sturdy so we can dissamble and toss dust and hair like in 3 steps instead of all over the just vacuum floor. The hose is hard and tough...too much actually couple of times while moving with the hose and accessories, ended pulling the main body and breaking something because as soon as you stretch the hose , it shrinks and pulls the vacuum. Doesn't have emergency release for suction in case of pulling a bag or scarf or someone's hair that is still attached to her hair... It would be useful much better sealing of the parts so dust ans so doesn't leak and creates the carachteristic smell or "just vacuumed with the old one" Definitely not to use for skinny or around kids or pets.

Lack of stair tool disgraceful
To say this is a pet vacuum the lack of a stair tool is disgusting. Very disappointed in this aspect otherwise the vacuum works as it should. Come on Hoover it's basics. We do stairs and need a tool

It works well
However, the plastic canister doesn't fully fit with the other part . It should twist all the way. So just comes apart when I empty it.

Side does not seal any idea?
Unless my machine is missing a piece or a seal, see the image, the side seal that goes from the hose to the main basin does not seal. It's a really strange design and everything I vacuum just goes out the space. No amount of tightening screws or reattaching the basin solves the large gap in the seal.

Honest review after years of using this machine.
I purchased this vacuum in 2017/2018. After 6/7 years it is still cleaning. The suction is still great and all the parts still work. I have not had to even change a belt on this machine. It does need a new hepa filter and that is why I came onto the Hoover website. I have 2 dogs that are constantly shedding. I just thought I would let everyone know how my vacuum has done for me over the years. This is a honest review from my experience with this product.
