    • Hydrolyzed soy protein (vegetable origin; soluble in water; produced by the enzymatic hydrolysis of soya flour; offers visible benefits in skincare products to provide a smoothing effect and minimize the appearance of roughness and wrinkles)
    • Hydrolyzed wheat protein (Phyto-peptides; substitute for hydrolyzed animal protein derived by acid, enzyme or other method of hydrolysis; conditioning, moisturizing and film-forming properties; helps skin retain moisture and improve its appearance)
    • Jojoba oil (from the seeds of the desert shrub Simmondsia chinensis; reduces transepidermal water loss without blocking the transportation of water vapor and gasses, providing suppleness and softness; helps to restore skin's natural lipid barrier)
    • How to use:
    • Shampoo first with the Kiehl's shampoo appropriate for your hair type
    • Rub a small amount of the formula into hands before applying
    • On damp hair, gently work Silk Groom through the hair
    • The formula will be absorbed, resulting in a lustrous shine and smooth texture
    • Reinforce treatment with one of our efficacious hair paks every 12-14 days to maintain optimum hair condition

Silk Groom is the standard!

We're happy to have Silk Groom back! It was always a standard for my husband. It felt like a luxury basic, a clean standard without the bells and whistles of celebrity endorsed products. I don't know if it's the exact same as before, but it's certainly works well for my husband's short hair (slicked back) and my curly coarse hair (slicked back or curly). My (our) only complaint is the packaging. The bottle is a little difficult to squeeze. The plastic is a bit rigid, not soft enough to comfortably squeeze. Ironically, we began using Virtue 3-in-1 cream, when Silk Groom went away. But stopped using Virtue because of their very wasteful packing (more plastic than product) and the higher price point.

Not As Advertised

The concept of this product to provide silky hair did not perform to its description. Maybe I received a bad batch? I rub in my hands per directions but it does not go on 'silky' but thick. Very disappointed.

My experience

I love this product, I've been using it for many years. A non-sticky, non-crunchy way to hold curls. However, I'm finding it's more difficult to squeeze out of the tube once you're half way into it - maybe because I'm getting older, but I can't do it with one hand.
