Black face & bold white numerals are very helpful. Making it easy to read in a passing glance. I'm sure that this was one of the reasons why it was sold-out on Am_zon. This device replaces another atomic clock that had Roman numerals. Which made reading the time less than ideal. Another perk of this device is that it automatically resets the correct time for DST (Daylight Savings Time), my old clock didn't do this which made the time change a bit of a headache. In addition, it has extra slots on the back for two more batteries extending its usefulness. Basically, set and forget. The manufacturer claims that using three AA batteries (not included) extends the life of the clock up to 5 years. Macy's promptly shipped the package. La Crosse Technology packaged the timepiece well with lots of cardboard padding. So as not to get damaged in transit.
