The lining is cheap and ripped after one season on wear.
Poor material
Looks nice. Made very cheap! Haven’t worn it yet and it’s coming apart
Terrible Quality
I have had this coat for less than two months and the pocket seams started to come apart after 2 weeks. The pockets are officially useless and if you tried to put anything in them it will just fall down into the coat. Disappointed and appalled that a coat at this price point would be such poor quality.
Sheds terribly!
I like the length of this coat (it comes to my ankles on me) and the overall style, but I have some quibbles. First, the zipper doesn't go down the entire length of the coat, so the wind and cold still seep through even if you have it buttoned. I understand they did it for ease of getting in and out of a car or while driving, but if you're not driving then this design feature is useless and just lets in the cold. Second, there are a lot of feathers--all the time. I'm not sure how there will be any feathers left after a few years. Third, what's with the faux flap pockets? It's another useless design feature. Fourth, I realize warmth is a subjective thing, but I don't think it keeps me that warm, despite its -7F rating. Thankfully, I didn't pay full price, so I don't feel like it was a total waste. For reference, I'm 5'2" and about 145 lbs and I got the medium and have plenty of room in the chest, shoulders, etc.
Climbing down
good model, warm down jacket. But the down climbs terribly. Very sorry.
Customer review from Ralph Lauren
Sheds a lot.
This coat sheds a lot. Runs a little big. I still recommend it. It is very warm.
Lovely coat
I just had a baby and gained ~20 lbs. I was a size M and went up a size since giving birth (got big in the midsection - used to have a semi hourglass figure). Because this is not a cheap coat and I intend on returning to my reg weight, I bought my pre-maternity size: M. Surprisingly it fit! A little snug but looks flattering and it's not uncomfortable at all. It also hides my trouble areas. I wouldn't say that this runs a size large. I would go with my reg size. I just lucked-out. The coat is long (no surprise there). I'm 5'8" but I'm used to these long maxi coats for northeast arctic chill type weather. As for the quality, it's unfair to say how it will hold up since I just bought it. So far the stitching, color, and fabric look fine, and I'm very happy with the design. I would have loved at least another inch of sleeves length though. Right now they fall short before my wrist. I do have long arms (not awfully long, but I am tall). I will have to wear long sleeve undershirts to make it work. Perhaps once I lose some weight, the extra space may help with sleeve length but I wouldn't bet on it. I will give it 5 stars for now. I did get it on sale for 40%-50% off -- and that makes a world of a difference. I can see why someone who paid $300 would be upset.
Warm and elegant at the same time but poorly made
The coat is cery lightweight yet warm. It is also pretty for a down coat, looks elegants & classy. Sizing is generous. I am 5’7” and 145 lbs (6-8 size) and got the Medium. It fits fine with room left for warm and thick winter sweaters or vest to be worn underneath when it is super cold outside. However, it is very poorly made. When I opened the box, I already noticed a few loose threads. At $390 retail, I would expect more from Ralph Lauren. I had 30% coupon but still a lot of money.
