My Personal Review of the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5

After spending some time with my new Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 (16” AMD) in Cosmic Blue, I’m genuinely impressed with how well it fits into my day‑to‑day routine. Design & Build Quality: The first thing that struck me was the design. The Cosmic Blue finish looks sharp without being flashy, and despite the 16-inch size, the laptop feels surprisingly light and easy to carry around. At just under 1.9 kg, it’s comfortable to move between rooms or toss into a backpack. The build feels solid too — knowing it meets MIL‑STD‑810H durability standards gives me confidence that it can handle regular use without babying it. Display: The OLED display is easily one of my favourite parts of this laptop. The 16-inch panel with a 2048 × 1280 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate makes everything look crisp and fluid. Colors pop, blacks are deep, and the viewing angles are excellent. HDR brightness reaching over 600 nits is a bonus — even in bright rooms, the screen holds up beautifully. Whether I’m watching videos, editing photos, or just browsing, it’s a noticeably premium experience. Performance: For everyday tasks, the AMD Ryzen processor handles everything smoothly. Productivity apps, web browsing, and even some light gaming run without any hiccups. The integrated AMD 780M graphics are stronger than I expected, making it capable of handling more graphics-heavy tasks than a typical mid-range laptop. It feels like a reliable all-rounder that doesn’t slow me down. Connectivity & Features: Lenovo included a good mix of ports, which I appreciate — USB‑C, USB‑A, HDMI, and a headphone jack cover most of what I need without adapters. Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 keep wireless connections fast and stable. I also like having both a fingerprint reader and an IR webcam for quick, secure logins. Those little touches make the laptop feel more polished. Battery Life: Battery life wasn’t heavily highlighted in the reviews I saw, but based on my experience so far, it seems to hold up reasonably well for a device with an OLED screen. Pretty good for the price
It works very well most of the time. The internet connection is slower than I've had with other computers in the same location, so I suspect the wifi board is not very good.
