D8500 Botvac Vacuuming Robot
Product details
Web ID: 5138284Battery died after 8 months
Had the vacuum for 8 months. Battery started having issues after 6 months and finally went bad after 8 months. Opened ticket at first issue but didn't need replacement. Now Neato tells me batteries are only covered under warranty for 6 months and I have to buy a replacement. Not a good experience for an issue that was first reported within warranty.

Buy a Roomba instead!
When I first bought this vacuum, I was impressed with its room mapping as well as its ability to charge and resume cleaning. Although I rarely used it (maybe 2-3x/month), within 5 months, the vacuum would periodically stop and require me to take the dirt bin out and put back in so that it could resume vacuuming. Within 7 months, the vacuum could no longer return to its base and would wander erratically around the room, missing entire areas. I would like to point out that I performed all maintenance thoroughly...including cleaning the bottom and side sensors as well as the top laser. I contacted customer support and was treated extremely poorly. They refused to honor the so-called "warranty," and said that I should contact a vacuum repair shop or buy a new vacuum. I REFUSE to buy another vacuum from a company that manufactures a sub-par product and will not treat their customers with respect. I bought a Roomba and could not be happier!
Response from Macy's
If the robot was less than 7 months old our customer care team would have no issues honoring your warranty. If you still have your robot, please email us at otto@neatorobotics.com and include the ticket number 438299 in the subject line to give us an opportunity to look into this for you.
Expected A Better Product For the Money
If you don't mind it not having the side brush go for it. That's one of the reasons I purchased this one I did my research the side brush isn't an inch big it has 4 sides with 10-15 appr. bristles in them that fall out every time you vacuum and eventually there all gone within 2 weeks if you use everyday which I do. And after contacting Mfg. 3 times I finally got an email from them with a huge list of things they wanted to send a replacement part. Not worth my time for a part that will just fall apart again in 2 weeks. When you have a moment can you please send me the following information so I may further assist you. A photo of the belly sticker: Original DATE of purchase: Original PLACE of purchase: Serial Number (This can be found on the bottom belly sticker of your Neato Also let me know whether it is - S/N, NSN, or RSN.): %u2022 Receipt, Confirmation Email, Bank statement, must include the date and place of purchase, model, and the amount purchased for. I would never send a bank Statement that shouldn't be asked!! The reason I Purchased was to save time for myself not get this list of things together. Other than that it's alright I'd probably buy another one researched. I have to pickup my barstools every time I run vacuum or it get's stuck under them, it climbs smaller things such as a large decorative basket so I pick it up also and climbs walls sometimes. It also moves lightweight tables so don't leave anything on them you don't want to fall off and break. It seems kind of rough I don't think it's damaged anything but really haven't checked. Do your research and don't count the side brush as a positive for this one.
