Can not believe this from Macys

Received the item and opened the box it was sent in. The manufacture's box had it's bottom cut off and is missing! Customer Service was no help - it was either send it back to get a replacement if they have it or keep it. Kept it - needed the item now. How can a company send anything out this way. Hope nothing goes wrong with it - no idea how to get replacement from manufacturer without the box!
