I bought this bag to

I bought this bag to replace a previous-generation Flare that was well loved as my teacher bag and now serves as my hiking backpack. This new bag retains the features that I loved about the older one, including the front stash pocket, thoughtful organization, light weight, and sturdy build. The side pockets on this version seem slightly deeper, which is nice. My one criticism is that this newer version doesn't have a sternum strap. However, this remains an all-around excellent pack for commuting to work and going on adventures in the city.

Osprey flare 27

After looking for a back perfect for collage this meets my exact needs being able to pack all my books, laptop, food and spare clothes while it being extremely comfortable due to the extra support on the straps and back panelling

Great backpack

Perfect size for me, I use it for uni so the laptop sleeve and compartments are perfect. The size is also perfect. It's so comfy to wear and looks really smart. Seems great quality. I absolutely love it! The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is the Osprey badge rubbing off over time, would have been nice to be embroidered on instead but hopefully it will last.

No protection

My spare monitor was broken during flight as hand luggage. I do not remember of any mishandling. Zero protection it seems,Laptop survived .

I love my new Osprey Flare 27

I had a black every day use Osprey for about 15 years but it was starting to look scruffy and the front zip went. I bought the Flare 27 from an outdoor style shop in Birmingham and I love it. If you want pockets for an everyday work rucksack, this is for you. There are 3 inner sleeves so you can put a laptop in it, and books in the other two for instance. There are also other pockets and zips though for phones/money etc, and two side sleeves for bottles - also a sort of marsupial pouch at the front where you can quickly shove a hat or gloves into! I've only used it a couple of weeks so I don't know how the material will fair - I do think the material on my old one may have been stronger, but we'll see. I bought a Hikelite before but that just had one laptop inner sleeve and hardly any pockets, just one on the bottom of all places, so I returned it. If you like pockets/compartments, this is the one for you.
