I bought this bag to replace a previous-generation Flare that was well loved as my teacher bag and now serves as my hiking backpack. This new bag retains the features that I loved about the older one, including the front stash pocket, thoughtful organization, light weight, and sturdy build. The side pockets on this version seem slightly deeper, which is nice. My one criticism is that this newer version doesn't have a sternum strap. However, this remains an all-around excellent pack for commuting to work and going on adventures in the city.

Our high school kid loves
Our high school kid loves it. Roomy enough to carry everything and yet well designed to handle the load. For sure, he will take that to college.

Adequate repair - but
Was disappointed as the slit in interior lining was only repaired with a piece of sticky tape. Expected a new piece of material at least as I could have put some tape on myself to do the same.

Let me begin with the fact that I LOVE osprey packs and own several. This commuter bag features great organization with a place for everything you need in a place that makes sense. I especially like the front pouch for quick grab.

For cycling, this feels like
For cycling, this feels like you're wearing a sheet of plywood on your back. It is OK for walking around with. It is roomy, and has sufficient pockets. I'm not sure why they went with elastic loops over pen/pencil sleeves. That doesn't seem like an improvement.
