Poor design limits the usefulness
We purchased this 12 cup Presto electric percolator 2 weeks ago to replace our 12 cup Farberware electric percolator, which finally died after 6 years of almost daily use. The Presto pot works well if you want to make 2-6 cups of coffee, but anything more than that results in grounds flowing over the basket and into the pot of coffee. We initially tried making 12 cups, then 10, without a filter since the perforations at the bottom of the basket are tiny and we felt that would provide enough filtering. We also tried using the provided wrap around filters but were still limited to 6 cups at most. The basket is shallow and the perforations in the bottom do not allow for the heated water to drain quickly enough.

Be aware the the perk well is Aluminum
I bought this a few months ago. For elegance, function, and coffee flavor I would have given it a 10 review if it were possible until I discovered it had an aluminum perk well. This company is not transparent about this! Nowhere does it mention anything about the aluminum well. They make it sound like the entire thing is stainless steel. Probably because they know they would sell less of them for people worried about aluminum. If this is a food grade aluminum, and or with a food grade coating to prevent leaching, they could easily add this in so people are not blindsided and feel comfortable with it. Since they do not do this, it makes it questionable whether this food grade or not. So, just be aware before you buy this. I only gave it a three star due the lack of transparency, which leads to the question: is this a deceitful practice to ensure higher sales??

No Plastic. Great coffee.
The Presto coffee maker makes great coffee. Keeps it warm all day. And is Stainless Steel so it doesn't leach plastic into our coffee. It's everything we wanted!

Too small this is only a 2 cup percolator not 2 to 6 very disappointed on the size.

Presto measures the coffee maker as 5 oz = 1 'cup' of brewed coffee. This is a common, industry standard of measurement concerning percolators. You may prefer our 12 cup model, stock #02811. Pleasantly surprised
I switched to the Presto percolator because I wanted to stop having microplastics in my coffee and this percolator is 100% stainless steel. It’s easy to use and the fact that my coffee tastes so much better was a pleasant surprise.
