Burns out quickly - be careful

Although we love the styling of this unit, their lifetime is poor. We originally bought two units for our kitchen. One died after about 2 years of what I would consider normal use. I bought another to replace that one and it is still working. But, the second of the original purchase just recently died too. Although I was willing to chalk up the original failure to having purchased one that was poorly manufactured or had faulty components, I'm not willing to do that with the second. My advice is don't get this one unless you're OK with buying a new one every 2-3 years. Even if I had them on for 8 hours a day, every day (which I didn't), 30,000 hours of life means they should last for 10 years. We got less than 25% of that.

I am now replacing a second 4 light fixture

I installed 2 of these in 2014. The first was replaced 2 years ago and now the second has died. I don’t believe it is the bulbs. There is ballast type of control mechanism in these fixtures which is not replaceable. Why it cannot be replaced is beyond me. I have noticed that the old ones hesitated before lighting and the newer ones come on instantly. Hopefully the ballast has been improved. It should be replaceable so we don’t have to throw the whole fixture away.

Disappointed

Supposed to last 30,000, ours lasted for about 10,000 hrs max. Disappointed it's already headed to the landfill.

Died After 4.5 Years

I purchased this light in June of 2015. It just died, 4.5 years later. Started flickering a couple days ago, then kaput. I calculate it lasted about 5,000 hours. Won't be replacing it with the same model.

Only lasts 2-3 years

I bought two Tilden fixtures in 2015, a two-light one and a four-light one. The two-light fixture died after two years; it had been an open-box item, so I bought another to replace it. The four-light fixture died after three years. Tilden fixtures die; you don't simply replace the bulbs. I bought another four-light one to replace the one that just died, but this is the last Tilden I will buy. The next time one of them dies, I will find another brand. It's not that they are expensive; I just don't feel like replacing an entire fixture every couple of years.
