This is a small, convenient, and lightweight iron, but I'm deducting one star because it takes a very long time to heat up.The sole is about the size of a medium sized woman's palm.

Own one, bought a backup

Light weight, reliable and most importantly one of the few models still available that do NOT have an auto shut off. If you quilt or do other sewing this is a real asset. They do burn out eventually [especially when put to the hard use I give it] but have the added advantage of being inexpensive. My [several years old] previous model was showing signs of giving out so I took advantage of a sale to get a back up.

Proctor Silex simply better iron

I just bought this and needed it for a decal to iron on for transfers and it works. Seamlessly did not scorch your material at all. I'm very happy with the product. It's lightweight. It's not heavy clunky like my old iron.

Other occasion to buy:This iron is lightweight, easy to fill and easy to use. I got it at a good sale price. It is great for basic needs. I would not recommend it as a gift. I would buy a more expensive iron as a gift.

GREAT LITTLE IRON FOR THE SALE PRICE

I got this Proctor Silex iron on sale and I’m so glad I did. It is a lightweight iron that is easy for me to use. I am a senior citizen with arthritis issues and it makes a big difference to me. Certain things I just still insist on ironing.
