Not at all what I expected. The desk is actually all pressboard which is not indicated on this discription. The top of the desk is ugly. The box says pressboard with laminate but is the ugliest woodprint tape. So cheap looking.
I ordered the desk in Split Pea for my daughter's room when the teal color became unavailable. It certainly looks yellow in the picture and although that color was not my first choice, I figured it would work. I was pleasantly surprised when the desk arrived and I saw that it was actually a lovely light green color. Looks much better in my daughter's room than the yellow shade would have. So be forewarned, the Split Pea is not yellow at all as it appears in the picture. It is definitely green and I am actually happier with color than I would have been with my original first choice - the teal! The desk is a snap to put together - all you have to do is attach the legs with the Allen wrench and bolts provided. It was shipped directly from the manufacturer and it was very carefully packed. It is very charming and well made with lots of storage drawers and it is much more spacious than it appears in the photo. I am so glad I ordered it.
I just moved in with my boyfriend and I bought this desk to serve as a work space / makeup application area in our tiny apartment. I was worried he would be annoyed by a large bulky desk or vanity but I wanted something more functional than a parsons desk. I went with the grey because it was less "girly" than the white and would be subtle against our apartment walls. I was blown away with the quality of craftsmanship and how easily the desk assembled (ladies, this is a 10 minute job and it comes with all the tools you need!). This piece looks and feels sturdy and solid - not wobbly or hollow. The desk is equally beautiful open or closed and could easily serve as an accent table, sofa table or console table. The grey is a soft and beautiful color that looks great against our walls but is neutral enough to complement any room. I will say that my boyfriend was concerned about the color, but once he saw it assembled he liked how the paint complemented our dark furniture. Although the finish is beautiful, my one qualm is that the piece was obviously assembled, then painted, then disassembled so the inside hinges and sliding tray hardware were painted over and needed to be loosened before they moved easily, but after a few days everything moves with ease. If you're looking for a smaller desk to serve as a vanity, console, work space, craft surface or really for any other function... this is it! Buy it today - you will NOT be disappointed.
I found some of the items are with cracks. So I requested replacement. However when I got the replacement, I open the box, I saw the first items are broken, even more serious problem than the original one. too disappointment.
I like the height of the desk but wheels broke as soon as I set the desk up. The wheels were cheap. I have yet to order new wheels and will see just how long it will take to get replacement wheels.
I just purchased this desk in grey to use as an inconspicuous vanity (for doing my makeup) in my apartment living room. It's wonderful! It arrived directly from the manufacturer, packaged neatly with Styrofoam within a week. Quality seems to be good and it smells good (woody#. The knobs are worn and have character, as is the style. The grey color is different than it appears online - a little deeper and with a purple tone, although not necessarily "girly." Dimensions were accurate - it fits nicely in a corner and would also go well in a bedroom, I would imagine. It was easy to assemble using the included screws and allen wrench #each side panel with legs screws into the top using four screws on each side). If you're not sure, just order it. I bet you will like it.
