Flickers like a candle

Bought a set of these for my buffet, and was surprised at how quickly they arrived. After unboxing the first one, put a 40w bulb in, and switched it on, alas…. it flickered like a candle. Tried 3 different bulbs, and multiple outlets, but the same result was noted. It is nice looking, but cheaply made. Will return both lamps.
