Granddaughter loves special birthday gift!

This special gift for my granddaughter was received with joy! It is her birthstone and lovely! I also liked the sale price which prompted me to purchase it. A really good buy!

Flimsy necklace but nice ring.

First impression of this set is that it is relatively small and the gemstone is rather dull. However, I wanted a sterling silver set in garnet, so I decided to keep it (mostly because of the ring - see end of review). Right out of the box, the necklace felt flimsy and after one wear, the extender chain came loose and got lost (I used it as 16" and layered with a longer necklace). After second wear, the clasp on the necklace broke and it is now useless. I hope I can find a good 16" sterling silver necklace to replace the broken one. The earrings are also a little small. The ring is the best item in this set and it was an acceptable replacement for another real sterling silver and garnet ring (purchased from a Silversmith's sop in Williamsburg, VA) that I lost last year. The 3 stars is for the ring and the hope that the pendant is still usable..., if I find a necklace that fits (one with a small clasp that the pendant can slip through).
