Beautiful gem.
The jewel is beautiful. However, it took me quite sometime to unknot the necklace. It looked like the chain was just placed in the package helter skelter.

Bat and switch!
The stone was not even close to what is shown on the site or here. I wish that I took a photograph before I returned it an purchased a much nicer necklace at Kay Jeweler's for a much better price. The milky pink stone was looked like poorly made costume jewelry, not "fine gemstone"! Borderline false advertising, definitely bait and switch!
Had to retune.
I had to return the necklace. The Ruby was not as red as shown. It was more pink than red.

The ruby is bluish pink, it is not red as photos showing. I will return it.

Deceivingly Small & Cartoonishly Bright Red
I say this as a lifetime Macy*s customer who watches every Thanksgiving parade and shops in-store several times a year. For Fine Jewelry to be priced at this level backed by the Macy*s name, a certain standard is expected. I love Macy*s, but this item fell far short of all expectations. While the written description online is technically accurate in terms of TCW, when I received this item at my local Macy*s, it was tiny beyond any reasonable expectation. This was to be a birthday present for my girlfriend whose birthstone is the ruby. There's no way I can give this to her with anything less than utter embarrassment on my face. Fortunately, I am still within my 30 days of purchase and it will be returned shortly. The ruby itself is an odd shade of very bright red, not at all what is pictured online. Do yourself a favor: do you jewelry shopping in the store rather than online.
