Looking for a gate that works all over the house? The Safety 1 Lift, Lock & Swing Gate has a unique 2-in-1 design which allows it to be used in either of two modes. You decide which mode best fits your needs: mount it at the top of the stairs for maximum security as a hardware swing gate or place it in your doorway as a pressure mount security gate that's easy to move out of the way during periods when it isn't needed. In either mode, the gate helps keep your baby away from out-of-bound areas. It also features a SecureTech indicator that lets you know that the gate is securely locked in place. For easy operation, the gate features a complete-control top handle that lets you lock, release, and adjust as needed.

Incredibly frustrating

This is the most frustrating product I've ever owned I dread removing it and having to put it back up again because it literally always gets stuck in a locked position and takes 5-7 minutes every time to finally get it unstuck

Horrible gate or just help LOL

As I am reading reviews I see some people have had the same issue as me , I literally dread having to put this gate up in use when I have my step kids over to keep my baby out of their play room or in our bedroom door way. (My mother bought it for me ) I fight with the gate every single time to adjust the to the proper size from one area to the next, and once I can finally get it to adjust the size it over compensates and then locks so I cannot get the right size, and then once I do , it doesn't let me lock it down into place on the wall, I fight with the mechanism of the two buttons. This gate is HORRIBLE , or I just do not know how to use it . I have never had more issues with a baby gate in my ten years of childcare/being a mother

Best gate ever!!

I was reading the comments of the past users and I have no clue what the problem is. The product is a bit difficult to get set up but the instructions guide you through it all. After the instal it is the best thing ever. There is no difficulty opening or closing It, my 3 year old can testify to that. It requires a small pull or a small push to open or close it. Works on small or wide hallways. Best gate ever. We are passing it on to other family members who have small children. You won't regret the purchase. Edit, up to age 3 it works perfect for small children out of a room or many rooms.

NOT RECOMMENDED for carpel tunnel patients

I have tried many gates. This one is the only one that makes my carpel Tunnel start acting up. In order to lock it I have to apply all my weight to my hand and push down. There are many other gates that are easier on the eyes and much smother use and installation .

IT WORKED FINE FOR ME.

I installed and used this for a year to keep our puppy from using the stairs. Puppies that climb stairs a lot can get hip dysplasia. I removed it when she was old enough to use the stairs, but now I'm installing it again for the new dog. I think the poor reviews are from people who use the temporary "pressure" mount instead of the screwed-in permanent mounts. But, I'm not sure I would want to trust that a toddler couldn't push over the gate at the top of stairs when only held by the pressure pads.

Great value - sturdy

This is the best baby gate I've ever purchased. It is sturdy, easy to remove to take outside and wash. My only negative is that I had to look up on You tube to remember how to open fully to wash down with a hose. My memory - not the fault of the product. It is a dog gate in our house and we love it!! We can take it down if we have company and don't want to bother with the gate. My only suggestion is I would like to purchase more wall parts to be able to move the gate from one area to another.
