Automatic winding Seiko to replace the one I had

I've been waiting to replace my Solar powered Seiko that kept dying. I used to have a automatic winding Seiko for about 20+ years and it stopped working so I bought the solar powered one. I am glad I have the automatic one again. Hope it lasts as long as the one I owned before

Reliable every day

I work outdoors and have been wearing this watch daily and it’s been fantastic. The attendant in store quickly helped me adjust the band which was super convenient. A lot of videos online nitpick the band compared to the jubilee style bands but as someone new to nicer watches I have no complaints and find it comfortable and the fit is secure. The clicks on the bezel make me happy and the luminescence is great on the face itself. Lastly the back transparent view is simply great, I could watch the movements for ours. If you’re on the fence I’d say go for it you won’t regret it

Great watch, but…

So decades ago I bought a Seiko SBJ125 which was very similar to this auto Sport 5 stainless. I was young and started a full time job and after my first paycheck, I bought the SBJ125. Wore it for years and years. Made more money and bought several very expensive watches, but I always loved my SBJ125. Still have it and sits in my safe. Fast forward to today and I recently bought my Sport 5. Great watch, looks awesome, and I wear it everyday. Only issue is the bottom of the wings that flank the crown are really sharp and cut into the top of my wrist/hand. Thinking of using a fine file and knock them down a bit. It’s very uncomfortable and if I don’t file them, I may return it. Try on before you buy.

Great watch if only it didn’t run fast

I really like the watch. It’s durable and has become my everyday watch. I wear it all the time. However, I am co stay my having to set the time because it runs up to 5 minutes ahead. This is not what I expected from Seiko. I should probably explore the warranty however Inhave no idea what I’ve done with the receipt and paperwork. I bought it at Macys. Everything else about the watch is great.
