Disappointing.

Sound is VERY muddy, too much bass with lackluster mids. Very poor resolution and imaging is subpar. Despite appearing similar to other models in the HD5-- series, these cans are a departure from the norm in terms of overall quality. Also, the cable only terminates n 1/4". It would have been better to have shipped with 3.5mm including a 1/4" adapter.

Great product as expected.

I had the Sennheiser HD 558s for around 5 years and was so pleased I bought the 559s. Great product, fits over the ears very well, audio is pristine, 5 stars.

Amazing Sound, Super Comfortable

I was looking for an open-back headphone that I could use with my MacBook Pro for podcast editing, without spending on the really high-end Sennheiser audiophile gear. I decided on these HD 559’s, which after research on several forums appeared to be the best choice. I’ve actually found myself using them beyond what I intended - music just sounds so natural and for the price the sound stage just can’t be beat. They’re also super comfortable and I can wear them for hours without ‘headband fatigue.’ I love these.

I love the large range of frequency it provides. Had a bit too much bass (for my liking) in the beginning, but it can easily be solved with an EQ. Great product!
