Good enough, but...

I've been searching for a mattress pad to replace the two Beautyrest ones that were fabulous but broke. I already ordered a different brand a few months ago and returned it because the wires were too pronounced and super uncomfortable. I'm keeping this one (SensorPEDIC) but with reservations. The pros: Excellent controls that are backlit Long enough cords Even heating with several settings Good timer The cons: It doesn't heat the entire pad. The sides of the mattress and the head area are unheated. So, you slide into bed expecting that wonderful heat and for a moment think that you forgot to turn it on. Don't care about the head area, but I would like the entire mattress to be warm. It doesn't get hot enough for me. Granted, I like it very hot--just to warm it up when you first get in--and I'd prefer a slightly warmer option. It's definitely warm, but I feel that they just stopped short of as hot as it could be (and still be safe). Regarding the wires. I know that they're there and can slightly feel them but not enough to be annoying. My Beautyrest had such great padding that it never even occurred to me to check until I read reviews of other mattress pads that mentioned it. And like I said, the one I purchased before this one and returned--yikes! The wires were just awful. So, all in all, this is a keeper though there's definitely room for improvement.
