It rocks!
Quick Caution: Be careful until you get accustomed to the friction release for tilting back the handle. I came close to falling backward when it was new. It is not a problem now. Buy it! It makes vacuuming fun. Price was great, given its capabilities (Macy's had it for less than other places): -- It's powerful enough for carpet without making it hard to push. -- Crevice tool suction is strong but also has a lower suction option (lower suction intended for drapes, I think). -- The whole unit can be tilted backward to move it quickly around the house on its two back wheels without lifting it, so if I spot something I want gone, I usually jump on it quickly. -- Many parts, like the exterior hose can be replaced with simple releases, if they ever fail in the future, assuming parts are available. Is it perfect? Nah. In the rare times it needs to be lifted, it's darned heavy. Short handle removal is a bit finicky, at least on mine. You'll definitely want to keep the manual for the use and cleaning details, and possibly as an occasional refresher for specific part removal or detachment, but shouldn't need it for everyday use. Filters other than the Hepa have to be rinsed out monthly and left to dry for at least a day, and when it's so fun and easy to use for quick pickups, that day or more seems like forever, but that's also an indicator of how often I use it. People without stairs might opt against the Liftaway option if Shark makes a comparable one without that feature, because, besides likely adding weight, when the canister is not lifted away from the base, it tends to be top heavy when using the crevice tool and sometimes tries to topple, but liftaway might help for vacuuming high things anyway.

Great budget vacuum cleaner
Very happy with this model. Not chargeable and the long cord is not retractable. I suspect the lack of these features helps keep the price down. Works really well and I love the feature that enables vacuuming drawers and wall areas.
