HT A9 is amazing

I purchased this a couple of weeks ago to go with my bravia 9 I had a q990d before and I thought it was really good but the sound quality from the ht a9 I'd a different level

Great sound but frequent audio drop outs

I bought this just over a year ago. The sound is superb and it is easy to setup. However it has intermittently had audio drop outs. It was for a while possible to fix this by toggling the RF option in settings. However over the past 2 months it has got much worse. Sometimes the audio just stops outputting completely and I have to reboot the TV and set up the speakers all over again - but that does not always solve it. So, frequently I am spending 15 to 20 mins to get this to work again. It is so annoying that something so expensive has such a poor warranty. The retailer has said they cannot help. Expensive junk.

Audio dropouts ruin this product

It would have been a great product had it not been for the audio drop outs that occur even with audio optimisation. This is because the WiFi technology that this product uses is prone to WiFi interference.

Hi tech solution

Only tried the 4 speakers for a short period, they are well made and do generate a surround effect, however as a replacement for my old 7.1 surround system they are lacking base impact, both with music and especially sound effects. So I'm saving for one of the 2 available subs that are compatible. Another thing to consider on positioning, you may have to buy longer mains cables to get them ideally set-up.

When the input source, such as in TV programs, does not contain much bass sound, the bass sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. Constant dropouts

This is an impressive for sound but the constant dropouts in sound when playing Atmos or other hi-res formats leaves you feeling why did I buy this. Changed constant settings as per manual but still dropouts, normally in the quieter passages too? 🤔

Great sound in a compact form factor

I've had the soundbar for over a month now, connected to a Bravia 7 TV. Overall, it's an exceptional product. The spatial imaging is pretty good for the form factor of the soundbar, it does a good job of 'thowing its voice' to make the sound stretch beyond bar's physical limits. I have it connected to the TV to make the center channel the TV's speakers, so dialog is fantastic and not hard to understand as is way, way too common with recent movies. The only gripe is having to use the Bravia app on my phone to set up the soundbar, it would be nicer if I could do it on my TV. Except for that, it was worth the money.
