Great microphones for sing along party
The pair of ULT MIC 1 microphones are superb. The build quality is excellent. This is important as I’m sure they’ll be dropped many times. I use them through another Sony speaker, the ULT Tower 9AC. They pair wirelessly with a receiver that plugs into the ULT Tower 9AC. The sound quality is excellent, managing to balance clarity with shouty performances without distorting. The two microphones can also be used together for duets. I like the fact I haven’t experienced feedback or hissing, which ruins any singing experience. This is an aside because not everyone will own an ULT Tower 9AC Speaker, but as I do, it’s nice that the speaker has two microphone holders built in to accommodate the ULT MIC ‘s.

Perfect Partners
The Sony Ultmic 1 wireless microphones are the perfect partners for my Sony Tower party speaker. They turn my brilliant party speaker into a fun karaoke system with these high quality mics. The mics arrived really well packaged along with the wireless adapter and charging cable. The wireless adapter plugs into a dedicated port on the speaker and within a couple of minutes the full system is up and running. The two microphones can work independently or as a pair for duets !! These are not the usual plasticky kids mics rather they are heavy metal professional devices. The sound quality is fantastic. Can’t vouch for other speakers but matched to my Sony Tower you have a pro level karaoke system.

A wonderful addition to my entertainment system!
The ULTMIC1 is excellent! In the box you get 2 wireless microphones and a jack receiver. These work effortlessly with the ULT Tower 9AC. The microphones are lightweight, sturdy, and very comfortable to hold. The sound quality is excellent - my voice has never sounded so professional. The two microphones worke seamlessly together, with no lag, distortion or volume drops making them absolutely perfect for impromptu karaoke! The battery life is long, I still haven’t had to charge them and at no point did they squeal with feedback, despite being close to the speaker and moved all around.

Sony Power sound ULTMIC1 - Fantastic Quality!
Just opened up my Sony Power Sound ULTMIC1, gave them a charge, all USB C and good to go! Wow, they’re awesome! Super easy to set up, and the sound is clear right out of the box. The mic’s feel solid and look great. I used them with my ULT Tower 9AC Speaker, literally up and running in seconds and was singing along in no time. I great addition to the ULT Tower 9AC and completes the setup for Karaoke and general PA, the range of the Mic’s seems good, never lost signal when I tested them in a large space. Haven’t explored all the features yet, but first impressions are really solid, the Mic’s have a great feel about them. Definitely a worthy addition, if you’re into karaoke or just want something cool for PA! Would definitely recommend!

The ULTMIC1
A warm welcome please to a latest addition to the Sony line up the; Sony ULT POWER SOUND series ULTMIC1 Wireless Microphone/s So you get a pair of the microphones in each box including a receiver. Simply plug the receiver into any Sony ULT and Sony Party Speakers and the receiver picks up the microphones automatically and off you go. They are very intuitive and so easy to use, so you’re always ready, when the mood strikes, for that karaoke party. These microphones deliver an absolutely crystal clear sound and combined with an inbuilt wind, breath and handling noise reduction feature the clarity is next level. The microphones are designed with ‘Duet Assist’ this feature automatically balances each mic's volume, so even if one voice is softer or quieter than the other, nobody gets lost in the mix the sound will be equalised. For example a a man and woman singing together are equally balanced together, so no need to be wondering where that sound engineer is then. Combined with the Sony ULT TOWER 9AC Party Speaker, which incidentally has two microphone holders conveniently built in to accommodate the microphones, your karaoke party will be next level. On this note, hint, if you were to buy two packs of the ULTMIC1 microphones then yes through the Sony ULT and Sony Party Speakers you can have a quartet going perfect for a blast of Bohemian Rhapsody The feel of the microphone in the hand is really nice, there’s just the right amount of weight, My scales record the as 65grammes each, so they not to tire the hand of the singer holding it if they won’t hand over the microphone. The microphones are shockproof and should they be dropped or roll off a table then the built in silicone damper will help reduce any damage to the internal microphone. They will automatically power down after 5 minutes of non use. Blue tooth connection is a snap and they are USB C chargeable and offer a twenty hour battery life. If they were to run flat then for a ten minute charge you can get another two hours usage out of them. I love them but only sing at karaoke for fun. However a friend of mine is in a band and he's the lead vocalist and plays lead guitar. I asked him to plug his guitar into my ULT TOWER 9AC Party Speaker and play and sing along i thought it was awesome and crystal clear. I asked him what his verdict was and he described the sound as, next level and as good as any system he's used and together would save him transporting to much kit around. He thought it might be a good idea to borrow them for a while well sorry my friend go get your own. Enough said on that note I think. Sony might have outdone themselves with this setup a big thank you goes out to Sony. .

Great Fun
These are well made microphones, that feel solid in the hands, while not being too heavy to hold for a long period of time. The microphones link seamlessly using the adapter with the ULT Tower 9AC. Both microphones can be used at the same time, to a distance of between 10-15 metres, enabling movement away from the speaker. Karaoke is great fun, the microphones can last up to 20 hours, can you? On a minor note, there’s only one charging cable for two microphones.

Very good mics. Could be great with small changes
The mics were sent to me by Sony as review items and tested with a Sony ULT Tower 9AC party speaker. Firstly, the good points... The microphone came very well packaged and appear to be of very high build quality. The sound quality is excellent and the range is very good. Setup is easy too. The microphones fit nicely in to the pop-out holders on the ULT Tower 9AC. There are some points that I think that Sony could consider improving... It would be great if there were somewhere to store the mics and receiver inside the speaker so that if you are travelling with them everything is in one place. In fact, I think the receiver electronics could be build into the speaker accessed as an additional input. It is also a shame that is no way of seeing what the change level the mics and receiver are. I significant frustration for me was the the mics would go into standby after only 5 minutes. When dj-ing it can easily be over 5 minutes between using the mics and so you are forced to re-link them. Overall they are good quality microphones but could be great microphones with some minor changes.

A great addition to our Village Hall
According to the manufacturer these wireless handheld microphones have been optimised for party and karaoke use especially when used with Sonys ULT Power Sound speaker range. For my review I have used them with a large Denon AV system (see Photo) in our village hall and they worked beautifully. They were easy to set up using a plug and play receiver that plugged into our AV unit and the audio quality was excellent with crystal clear vocals. I was using it to present an Environmental talk for about a hundred people followed by a Q & A session from the floor. For this they worked perfectly and while the microphones are made to be used primarily with the ULT speaker ecosystem, I found the wireless connection was rock solid and reliable. The microphone has a solid, rugged feel, whilst at the same time being lightweight (about 280 g) and comfortable to hold making them very user friendly. The battery life is around 20 hours which is more than enough for our use and apparently 10 minutes of charging gets another two hours of use which would be great if you needed to do something in a rush. This exceptional run time would be excellent for social events, as you wouldn’t need to worry about frequent recharging interruptions. They have the following couple of additional features that I didn’t use but would make them great for social singing. * Duet Assist: Automatically balances vocal levels when two people sing together, which enhances harmony and mix. * Wind & handling noise reduction: Helps keep vocals crisp and interruptions minimal. So to sum up these microphones were Easy to set up and use, so would be great for beginners. Have an excellent battery life with quick charge capability. Have a clear and natural vocal pickup with noise reduction. Are very well-made and durable. All in all they are highly recommended.
