Great Earbuds
Excellent sound and fit. The controls are easy to learn and they have some good and useful features. Wish the app had abit more customisation for the presses. Great earbuds especially if you get them on sale.

Bad experience
I had a good experience with my WH-1000XM4 headphones and decided to get something compact for running so I decided on the WF-1000XM5 earbuds. Big mistake - within a week I've been experiencing constant sound getting cut off from each earbud, which is extremely disappointing for a sony product. I've troubleshooted and turned off adaptive sound control, proritise stable connection etc but it still has the same issues. I've sent it to the service centre so hopefully it gets fixed.

Crappiest earbuds ever
Paid a packet for these, and already it has issues. One of the earbuds switches off after 5-10 mins of use. The sound is flat and tuning is impossible based on the complex instructions. Don’t get fooled by the glowing reviews

Not worth it
I lost my Bose QC Ultra earbuds and decided to give Sony a try. Unfortunately, the call quality is disappointing — people I speak to can hear their own voice echoing, or they can barely hear me at all. Calls also disconnect from the phone quite often, which is frustrating. On the positive side, music quality is very good, which is what you’d expect from Sony. Overall, great for listening to music, but poor call performance compared to Bose.

Not as good as the WF-1000XM4
I bought this as a replacement for my WF-1000XM4, which I had for 3 years and were excellent. Have to say disappointed with the XM5 as the sound quality is just not as good. Overall the sound feels much more closed in that the XM4 model, with a narrower sound stage. RESPONSE TO SONY FOLLOW UP: Hi, the issue is not with operation - I use the headphones paired with a Sony Xperia 1 iv phone, using LDAC the Sony highest quality connection solution for music. The review is valid - using the same system the sound is significantly inferior to the WF-1000XM4 model.
