I thought we were purchasing a mattress with a reversable pillow top. This one has a memory foam top that is softer than expected and not reversable. After a few nights sleeping it is very comfortable and we will get used to the softness.

It's on a spoon-carved antique bed that I slept on as a child at my grandmother's house on the farm. It's in a guest room at my home. I had the side rails re-made so the original 3/4 length bed would be long enough for a full-size foundation. I purchased a 5" foundation specifically to ensure the spoon carving on the headboard shows above the pillows. It's a perfect fit! The foundation itself is hidden by the side rails, headboard and foot board. This old bed is solid, easy to get into and weight is well-distributed by the foundation resting on the slats. No worries about damaging the mattress or the family heirloom. My guests will love the fact they can crawl into this bed WITHOUT needing to climb steps! Thank you for the help of your Customer Care Support Team -- especially Hicks (who was amazing to work with and knowledgeable about antique beds) but also Dawn T who sent written clarification on a warranty question in Hicks' absence.

Initially it almost felt too firm, but after a few a weeks it has broken in and feels amazing! I've been doing a lot of projects around the house and every morning we've woke up without back pain. We both feel it's the best mattress we've ever slept on in terms of support.
