Beautiful long lasting color
Mauvelous Matte in Soft Mauve was my first experience with Liqua-Play and any eye shadow like this. For me, it was a bit tricky but I am not super experienced at application having mainly used powders and sticks. It worked great as a base layer and then I could get creative with powder eye shadows to add more color and various shimmer levels. Being as I am not an expert at application, it has taken me time to figure what works best for me. It does apply smooth and cleanly, just be careful not to over do it because it can get spotty (but maybe that is just me!). Thankfully, it doesn't crease and stays on all day, no issues there. Fun to play with, lots of potential in this product to be creative and find what works best for the look you are going for!

Worth it!!
The consistency is nice, it's blend able and can be used with a brush. Lasts all night long with great pigment.

Would buy again!
I received this product for free to review. I absolutely love the color of this eye shadow. It goes on smooth and has a beautiful finish! It lasts all day without smudging. I would definitely recommend to a friend!

Great for specific uses
After testing the Stila Liqua-Play eyeshadow in Soft Mauve (which is from the Mauvelous Matter line) I have a few thoughts. First the negative - I personally found it to be a bit tricky at times to blend it without ending up with a patchy result. If I used the smallest, and I mean smallest, amount and blended carefully but quickly... then it wasn't as bad. However, that's just not realistic so I unfortunately ended up with patchiness 95% of the time. The second negative is how quickly is sets. A liquid eyeshadow definitely should set faster than slower, however the speed at which this sets in my experience is the reason I (and others I'm sure) struggle to blend well. Now for something positive about this product. I LOVE this shade!! It's just the perfect mauve shade/tone for my particular fair skin tone, it doesn't end up looking too pink or too ashy purple ... Chef's kiss to this color!! Another positive is how long-lasting this is when I use it as an eye base. The way I have found to use it the best with my specific style is to apply 2 thing layers blended as well as possible. Though the blend doesn't matter a whole lot as it's not seen much in the end. Then I apply a complimentary colored shimmer/glitter eyeshadow with my finger over top. I have only tried this with powder shadows and textures like the ColourPop super shock shadows, so I can't attest to how it'd work to use a cream or liquid on top. I'll definitely test that out in the future. Overall I would recommend this to someone who is experienced with makeup, not a beginner. I would recommend this to someone who's looking for a quick long-lasting base color to throw on under their lids. But to be honest, there are SO MANY other products that are specifically made to be eyeshadow bases that aren't as tricky. I guess you'd just have to decide what you're willing/not willing to work with. Full disclosure: I received a free sample of this product in exchange for sharing my *honest* opinion.

A must have!!
After using this eye shadow and I can honestly say that I love it. So creamy and the color is soft and beautiful I love the light scent. It has a matte finish just the way I like my eye shadow I can say I'm very satisfied with this product great quality and value it's a must have. I highly recommend.

Doesn't have the best staying power BUT
Even with a primer, I still had creases midday, but I have pretty oily skin so I'm used to it. The color makes up for any other blunder though. I love love love mauve anything and this is such a perfect shade of it. It blends easily and sets quickly (so blend fast!). I'd definitely buy this again.

I Love This Eye Shadow
I received this product for free in exchange for writing a review. This eye shadow is easy to apply and goes on smoothly. The only complaint I have is the color. It doesn't look great on me but for someone else, it would! Definitely recommend!
