Sharp decline in quality

I bought my first round of Taft boots a few years ago and they have been nothing short of great. I recently bought this pair to replace another after a bad storm. The difference in build quality is crazy, this new pair has plastic/nylon where there was once leather and the overall construction of the boot feels so much cheaper.

Size runs small.

They look nice, but they run small. I wear a US 13 (EU 46) and these are too small at that alleged size. If I were to order again, I would definitely order up a size to 14.

Disheartening

The back of the shoes ripped after 3 times of wearing them. I have always carefully put these on and taken them off and stored them in the fabric bags they came with when not wearing. Extremely disappointed and saddened that this happened outside the warranty period, as I got them for a wedding that was cancelled back in 2023. I work outside and extremely seldom have had opportunities to wear these. They’re stunningly gorgeous and I had faith in their quality based on other reviews, but I seem to have gotten a bad pair.
