Glass not sturdy - disappointed with this expensive product

The glass is very fragile because our kettle cracked with a light tap on the sink. I was expecting this product to last much longer, I bought this expensive tea maker only 6 months ago. For the price I expected a more sturdy product with better quality glass.

Love this kettle

Love this little kettle. We use it daily. It’s quick, it looks nice on the counter and it turns itself off. No more forgetting the kettle is on. The temperature settings for various types of tea is a lovely feature that we use regularly.

Good concept but has a poorly design part that fails

This unit is handy for making tea, however, as someone else's review has noted the magnetic lid fails. Underneath the metal covering of the lid is a plastic ring holding the magnets and that plastic cracks and fails, causing the lid to not contact the tea basket properly. Without the magnetic connection, you can't use the lid to lift out the tea basket. This appears to be either a design or material flaw. This occurred within about 8-10 months of my daughter receiving the tea maker as a gift and now she regularly has to use an oven bit to retrieve the tea basket. Unfortunately she is disappointed in the failure of a product she otherwise liked using.

Tea maker by sage

My tea making kettle arrived within a few days of ordering, well packaged but not over package, so Carbon footprint not to big. The tea making routine is easy when you read the instructions correctly. Place the tea after it has boiled and not while it's boiling. I soon learnt this when the tea was strong enough to cater for a works canteen. This also works just as well with tea bags and even the new coffee bags! Not to messy to clean the loose leafs from the brewing mesh basket. Staining can be easy removed by using a soft scrub pad. The mesh basket cleans in a dishwasher. I would purchase again, when needed.

Came with minor scratches

It came with minor scratches near the main button. I personally kind of doubt it was open boxed, but ofc can't confirm. Opened an inquiry with Breville, being told that they can't see the scratches from the photo, which I didn't bother to reply back due to the seemingly heavy process. It was not significant scratches after all, I'd probably made them myself within 2-3 months of usage anyhow. But I'd still hope it was perfect from begining. Other than that, the kettle cover with tea chamber detachment isn't functioning too smoothly. Often when I want to only remove the cover, it stays stucked with other parts and pulling it cause the whole upper part come off together with it. Overall not too satisfied with the purchase, given it's almost 5-10 times more expensive than other tea makers on the market. Paying this much premium, I think I at least have the right to complain about scratches, minor or not.
