For the original price, I thought I'd be getting a heavy weight stainless steel roaster. Turns out the sale price was a bit more accurate. The roaster is very light weight, almost the weight of an aluminum pan.

I wanted to like this Cellar Stainless Steel 8‑qt Covered Oval Roaster, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. While the size and basic design are fine for roasting larger cuts or a small turkey, I noticed a serious quality problem: the metallic finish inside the pot is chipping off into my food. This is not only disappointing but also concerning from a safety and health perspective. The unit looks decent at first glance, but after just a few uses small flecks of the inner metal coating started flaking off into the juices and meat — something I’ve never experienced with other stainless steel cookware. Because of this, I’m hesitant to use it again and wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re okay with this risk. Pros: • Good capacity for larger roasts and poultry • Comes with rack and lid Cons: • Interior metallic finish chips off into food • Feels lower quality than expected for a stainless-steel roaster Overall I expected better durability and finish.

I would have given this a five star “if” there was a bigger size. Otherwise this is PERFECT. I cook ALOT. So I purchased this for my thanksgiving turkey. Unfortunately my 25lb turkey was too big. It fit mind you but with no breathing space. So I used it for the ham. I love love love that I was able to use the rack to easily remove the ham from the pan. That’s a plus plus plus. AND carve it right on the rack as well. I will be using this roaster quite often. If you’re contemplating, you’re not really sure you want to purchase, let me give you a little push……… Go Ahead and Purchase. You won’t regret it.
